Customs Guide PDF

Customs info is one of the major guides on an international relocation, knowing the regulation and laws of your destination will provide the consumer with knowledge prior making his relocation. Customs & Regulations are different in all countries and destinations therefore in most companies you will not find the satisfying answer of questions you may have, at mymovingguide.com we have searched the web to provide our customers with the required information & regulations on your final destination.

There are several ways for a shipment to fall into customs although customs inspection at most destinations are done randomly. Some are done via packing list and some are done via computer generating container numbers.

A reputable company will provide its customers with a detailed inventory list of the household goods that where picked up from residence or purchased, there are some destinations that requires an inventory list to be translated in the language of that country. At this point the customer will require going to the nearest embassy of his country and arranging the translation of the inventory list, the inventory list will require to be stamped the government office. Otherwise it will be difficult to clear shipment at port.

Misplacing information on the inventory may cause future problems such as proof of damage for insurance coverage if may apply, the other problem will take place if customs will require to inspect the following shipment.

Inspection by customs

Although custom are done randomly never the less all customers must declare to customs that all goods in the shipment is there personal belongings. Inspections apply due to miss information on the packing list or a random computer generating. If there is an inspection and goods are not listed on the inventory the consumer will charged for a penalty & the duties on the goods. All charges by customs are due to the customer. Customs have the authority to hold shipments at port, any delay of your shipment will cause storage and/or demurrage charges.

Therefore it’s much important to know that your shipping company is a reputable company that will take care of your shipment every step of the way.
