Customs Procedure for Moving Household Goods in to Algeria
Customers must be present at clearance. Only one shipment allowed. All shipments inspected. Household has to be completed.
Documents Required
1. Passport (must show last entry stamp)
2. Certificate of Change of Residence, Visited by the Algerian Consulate/Embassy at origin
3. Employment Contract
4. Residence Visa
5. Work Permit
6. Valued Inventory (detailed, in French), consular zed
For electrical items state make, model and serial number. Must state quantity of records, cassettes, tapes and videos
7. Bank Guarantee or Letter of Guarantee
8. Invoice for all electrical appliances
Vehicle/ Car
Import license required for foreigner. Custom duties assessed.
Restricted Items
New furniture (less than six months old) and office furniture, Foodstuffs (in large quantities), Only one of each appliance duty-free, Liquor.
Prohibited Items
Live plants, Pornographic materials, Weapons and ammunition, Radio equipment (walkie-talkies), Alcohol and tobacco products, Drugs, Currency and jewelry and Political materials
