Customs Procedure for Moving Household Goods in to Bolivia
Customers presence is required for customs clearance. Duty-free entry for foreign diplomats, Bolivian diplomats returning to Bolivia are not entitled to duty-free exemptions. Non-diplomats can import used household goods and personal effects, but they are subject to duties and taxes.

Documents Required
Valid Passport, four copies of original Inventory in Spanish without values and two copies of original Insurance Policy.
Vehicle/Car No vehicle over six months old is permitted to be imported, Motorcycles over 100 cc are prohibited, Automobiles are restricted as to size and engine capacity, Duty applies and License from the Transport Control Department is required

Documents required:
1. Commercial Invoice
2. Certificate of driving conditions, proving that the vehicle is in good condition
3. Two copies of original Insurance Policy
4. Certificate of Origin
5. Verifying Certificate (for non-diplomatic vehicle shipments)
6. Description of car (make, year, model, etc.)
7. Title
8. Registration

Restricted Items
New items (invoice required), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, Food (Phytosanitary Certificate required), Medicine, Plants (Certificate of Sanitation), Carpets and Precious metal objects, jewelry and coins.

Prohibited Items
1. Weapons of ALL types, including: flick knives, blowguns, spear guns, crossbows, etc., will be confiscated
2. Narcotic drugs
3. Firearms and ammunition (must be accompanied by a permit signed by the commissioner of police)
4. Explosives (including pyrotechnics of any sort)
5. Gold or silver coins
6. Pornographic material
7. Political literature

Live Animals and Plants
Animal must be at least four months old. Import permit issued by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Parks is required. Health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian from the country of origin. The name, date of birth, breed and description of the animal is required.
